Overwaitea Food Group opened first Urban Fare store in Vancouver in 1999. The store had been in the news since its inception for the price and luxury of some of its goods. Today, they have 4 outlets in Vancouver and 1 in Kelowna.
Urban Fare is a subsidiary designed specifically for the urban population that sells only high-end, gourmet, organic and imported foods. Most of the stores offer in-store restaurant and coffee shop. They also have florists, pharmacies and an extensive range of pre-packaged “grab on the go” meals.
- Price Smart Foods
Price Smart Foods are the regional chain of Overwaitea Food Group and they have stores in Burnaby and Richmond. The USP of these stores are their customer-friendly store layout designed for rapid process and shopping convenience. They make them unique in the market by offering a huge quantity of ethnic foods. They mostly sell products of the same brands and also follow same rewards card system as other Overwaitea chains.
Recently, it was heard that 14 out of 16 of these Price Smart Foods outlets are being converted to Save-On-Foods outlets.
